Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By installing or using JobTune (the Chrome extension at tryjobtune.com and any associated services), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We may update these terms; we'll notify active users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect.

2. Who can use JobTune

You must be at least 16 years old to use JobTune. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

You may use JobTune only for lawful purposes related to your own job search. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Use the service to misrepresent your qualifications, fabricate experience, or deceive potential employers
• Resell, repackage, or redistribute JobTune's output as your own product
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code, prompts, or model weights
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to circumvent rate limits or pricing
• Use the service on behalf of someone else without their knowledge and consent
• Submit harmful, illegal, or rights-infringing content (including resumes that aren't yours)

3. Your account

You sign in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity that happens under your JobTune account. If you suspect unauthorized access, email support@tryjobtune.com immediately.

4. Free and Pro plans

New accounts receive 5 free tailors. After those are used, you'll need to upgrade to Pro ($9 CAD/month) to continue tailoring.

Pro subscribers receive unlimited resume tailoring during the active billing period. "Unlimited" is intended for genuine personal job-search use. We reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend accounts that show signs of automated or commercial misuse.

5. Billing and payment

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

If a payment fails, we'll retry it a few times over the following days and notify you. If all retries fail, your subscription will be canceled and your account will revert to the free tier.

We don't offer prorated refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-period, your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from the side panel: click your avatar → Manage subscription. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, then stop. We won't bill you again after cancellation.

7. Your content

You retain all rights to the resumes you upload and the tailored outputs JobTune generates from them. We claim no ownership of your content.

By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your content to the third-party services (Anthropic, Supabase, Stripe, Resend) we use to run JobTune. This license ends when you delete your account.

We do not use your resume content to train AI models. We do not sell your content to anyone.

8. JobTune's intellectual property

JobTune (including the extension, web service, branding, copy, prompts, and design) is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of it.

9. AI-generated content disclaimer

JobTune uses AI to generate tailored resume content. The output is suggestion, not professional career advice. You are responsible for reviewing the tailored version before submitting it to any employer.

AI can occasionally produce errors, awkward phrasing, or misrepresentations. Always review and edit JobTune's output before relying on it. We are not liable for any consequences of submitting unedited or insufficiently-edited AI-generated content to employers.

10. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee it. JobTune may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to issues with third-party providers (Anthropic, Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare).

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We'll give reasonable notice for significant changes to paid features.

11. Termination

You can delete your account anytime by emailing support@tryjobtune.com. We delete your data within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the service, attempt to commit fraud, or use the service for illegal purposes. Where possible, we'll notify you and give you a chance to fix the issue first.

12. Disclaimers

JobTune is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that:

• Using JobTune will help you get a job, interview, or offer
• The tailored output will achieve any specific ATS score
• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every threat
• The AI will always produce accurate, complete, or appropriate content

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JobTune and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes lost job opportunities, missed interviews, rejected applications, or any career outcomes — positive or negative.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $50 CAD.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
